BRE Success Manager – Economic Development Internet Software Company
SizeUp is looking for a Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Success Manager to join our innovative team at our successful software company. The ideal candidate for this role must be passionate about helping organizations that assist small businesses. The BRE Success Manager will onboard new customers and support existing clients. The position will work directly with company leadership, sales, and engineering teams. As a success-focused organization, we are looking for proactive customer interactions aligned with achieving customer goals by helping them drive value from our products.
This ideal candidate will have expertise in Business Retention and Expansion and learn to become successful at implementing Customer Success practices including onboarding, ongoing support, and tracking/managing staff changes at client organizations.
We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working in the economic development, chamber of commerce, marketing, and/or small business assistance professions (and wants to stay connected to them), but would prefer to work in the growing and exciting industry of Internet technology at SizeUp. Remote Work Flexibility
This position will be remote, and the BRE Success Manager can work from anywhere. Preference will be given to applicants that can work during traditional Central Time Zone hours, although living in the Central time zone is not required. Remote work will enable you to save the significant time for yourself that you would have had to spend commuting into an office.
Expectations
The candidate should be prepared to work independently and forge ahead with work based on client and team member feedback, and then collaboratively evolve customer success strategies in a continuous cycle of improvement. SizeUp sets quarterly and annual goals to ensure major projects are advanced and completed. The candidate will have great autonomy over how to achieve their goals, and updating the CEO on progress and collaborating toward effective solutions will be paramount.
The candidate should be prepared to work in a unique Software as a Service (SaaS) environment in which our client is rarely the direct/end-user of our software product. Our clients are usually economic development organizations, but the end-users of our software are the businesses located in our client’s community. This is a position where you’ll need to develop innovative strategies to assist clients with adoption issues outside of their organization.
This team member will work directly for SizeUp company leadership to inform both sales strategies and product/services evolution through regular collaboration with the business development and engineering teams.
An ideal candidate should:
- Enjoy working with client organizations that have smaller teams, sometimes even single or two-member teams.
- Be excited about most days being different, as you work with clients with different methodologies for helping small businesses and entrepreneurs.
- Have experience in managing necessary aspects of a CRM to track client activity, communications automation, and reporting to provide a data-driven approach to customer success.
- Be an extrovert who is an excellent communicator and be invigorated by making presentations in-person/virtually and be comfortable on the phone or speaking through web meetings/presentations.
- Thrive in a work setting where autonomy and a variety of tasks.

Job Description
As a BRE Success Manager, you will be working closely with our clients to proactively identify and help them achieve their goals for our SizeUp SaaS (software-as-a-service) offering. Customer Success has full ownership of the implementation process and continued customer service, including quarterly client check-ins.
SizeUp offers a turnkey software solution that is remarkably simple to implement for clients from a technical perspective. As such, the implementation process focuses mainly on assisting our customers with training for their staff and partners. It also includes assisting clients with marketing SizeUp to the local business media in their market and local businesses in our clients’ communities. This is primarily accomplished through public webinars and/or web trainings. As such, you should be comfortable speaking both virtually and in-person to larger audiences.
Requirements
Ideal candidate requirements:
Four-year college degree or equivalent job experience
Highly organized and task-oriented
Able to manage multiple client projects at the same time
Self-managing
Excellent people skills
Good at interacting and communicating with people through web meetings, phone, and email
Excellent computer and remote working skills are required as the SizeUp team all work remotely.
Experience with software including email, word processing, PowerPoint, Customer Relationship Management (preferred), and an ability to learn new software.
Economic Development / City Planning / Government
Chamber of Commerce / Small business assistance/ Membership-based organization
Marketing
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
It is preferred, but not required, that you can read, write, and speak Spanish.
